BBQ Beef, Scallion And Pineapple Kebabs
Bridget Maloney
Ingredients:
- 1½ pounds sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 9 scallions, each cut into 8 1- to 2-inch pieces, plus extra thin sliced white and light green parts from another scallion, for garnish
- 1 pineapple, peeled and cored, cut into 36 1-inch chunks (save extra for another use)
- ½ cup KC Masterpiece® Original BBQ Sauce, plus more for serving
- 12 wooden skewers, soaked for at least 20 minutes in water
Directions:
- Preheat a charcoal grill to medium-high heat (about 450°F), and brush grate with oil.
- Toss the steak with salt and pepper. Thread the ingredients onto skewers — start with steak, followed by a chunk of pineapple and two pieces of scallion. Repeat two more times and end with a piece of steak.
- Place kebabs on grill and cook for about 6–8 minutes total, turning often, until the beef is cooked to your liking and the scallions and pineapple are slightly softened and charred. Brush with BBQ sauce after each turn. Remove from grill and sprinkle with the sliced whites and light green parts of the scallions. Serve warm with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
